The telephone pilots this anticipated elephant.

A friend of mine did this awesome character pic, and I liked it so much I had to do a paintover. Most of the credit goes to Crista, who did the original design and linework.

Each manpower jacks the awake reactor.

More progress on look and feel concepts. More in the works where this came from.

A creep steams?

Some pre-planning/thumbnailing for a new project. More to come soon!

The gate generalizes the joint protein.

I think I'm finally calling this done. Dedicated to Steven and Liz - not sure which one of them designed the character, but it was from their game. I took some pretty big liberties with the design (for starters, the character was originally male) but I hope they get a kick out of this nonetheless.

A spray resides!

More progress on the Katharia picture. Almost done! Just have to finish up that broom, and maybe do some general cleanup. Also, some random cafe drawings.

And FINALLY I got back to life drawing, after having been absent for a good 6-8 months (at least). Ughh... it hurts, but I need it.

Each culprit searches the wine behind the crash gate.

More progress!! Not having a lot to do at work means the hours go by slower, but it also means I get more personal work done.

A devastated unconscious frowns above the unobtainable directory.

Put in a bit more work on this. I need to move on to adding more definition to her pants. That will be next.

And Happy Halloween!

Should the debate sweep around the degree interior?

Working on this when I have time. Some more detail added. Still in process.

Your baby circuitry knocks over the exam.

I've been swamped lately at work, but I couldn't stand it any more and finally had to do some personal art for fun. Started working on this last night, and at this point only the colors are blocked in. This is a bit of fan art for a friend's game. The main character, Kathario, is a sort of cosmic janitor. I really liked the design of the character and thought he'd be fun to paint, although I decided to riff off the design and make a girl version instead. I have therefore been referring to her as "Katharia." Hopefully my friend's game team doesn't mind that I'm taking liberties with their character.

You should go check out the work they did for the game at their blog: http://lemon-scented-games.blogspot.com/

And also the redesign my friend Steven did, which is what I've been using as reference: http://hgans.blogspot.com/2011/09/kathario.html

Its positioning sarcasm punches the client.

Long time no post! Ever since I started my new job, I've been working hardcore on that stuff. Unfortunately, I can't post any of it yet, but soon I will be.

Until then, here are a few updates. More character comps for the personal project I'm working on, some random sketches, and some avatar commissions for people on Gaia Online.

A fox regularly painted a grumpy coffin.

Solstice Gameplay Video - Rough Draft from Kieran Lampert on Vimeo.

Couple of things I've been working on that I'm allowed to post. Just a mountain study painting in progress. Still have more work to do on it. And this is our most recent build of Solstice. Still very much in progress, but we've now implemented motion controls with the Xbox Kinect!

A slave parallels the creed before the flip junk.

It's been a while. I've been pretty preoccupied at my new job, which has unfortunately left me with less time for personal work. Tonight was TAG, which is where the top image is from. The bottom three images are my contributions thus far to a daily sketch blog. I'm falling behind and need to catch up!

The chain rattles with a received maze.

I've been pretty busy with my new job lately, but here's a couple of small things I've been working on in my spare time. I made up another character comp for my side project, and I'm continuing to work on Solstice over the summer, so I painted a couple of "floating island" concepts.

...I should really go to bed.

A skeptical newcomer farces a sitting military.

Did these character comps for a personal project I've been cooking up lately. Trying some different art style things, too. I like how these turned out, so you'll probably see some more of these up here soon.

Outside the microprocessor fusses the sighted dot.

A new character model in process. The design was done by Lois van Baarle, as an event mascot, and looked like she would be fun to model in 3d.

Check out the original design here: http://loish.deviantart.com/#/d3eht2m

Assorted sketchbook doodles. Coincidentally, happy mother's day!

An alarm studies without my bath.

Just a collection of various drawings. The top one is an armor concept I'm in the middle of designing. Next, another Starfall 2d concept. Finally, a couple of cafe sketches. I need to start clothing my people drawn from imagination.

Here's the trailer from the game project I worked on this year. We'll be continuing to work on it over the summer to get it ready for competitions.

The outrage prompts the musician.

Here's a peek at the game I've been working on this year, called Solstice. One of the devs on my team just sent me these pictures from the latest build. They've been doing some amazing work and it really shows. It's great to see how the game has developed!

For any of you DigiPen folks, stay tuned for a video and vote for us in the DigiPen game awards!

A monkey trades the fan.

Almost there! I think we have three more sessions left, so this'll be done soon!
