The unstable insurance agent ceases to exist, and a jersey cow trembles.

Work was cancelled today! I got all the way to Redmond to find out that the building had lost power, therefore the computers couldn't be turned on, thus cancelling Project Fun. Althought somewhat annoying that I had to get up early and spend over an hour on the bus to find this out, I wasn't really upset. It was nice to have the day off.

With the time I had, I did some cafe drawing and attempted to work on my website (and failed after finding no place with airconditioning, outlets, and a place to sit). The middle doodle/drawing is from yesterday during Project Fun. I was a bit bored so I browsed through dA and found a photo I found interesting. I used the only paint program available to me at the time, paint.net, and drew this based on the picture seen here ---> "Close Your Eyes"

Finally, I finished the high poly Ora model. Hooray!

A vaporized hockey player falls in love with a tape recorder.

I started over the Pamela picture AGAIN because I feel like I'm getting the hang of Painter and wanted to take another crack at it in that program. At least I feel like each time I start this picture it's better than the last. I like the way this is progressing, but there's still a lot of work to do.

Also, Ora is soooo close to being done. I just need to add the little cloth strap that goes over her shoulder. Yahoo! Oh, and of course, I'll need to down-rez her for use in the game, but that usually doesn't take too long.

The cloud formation around a short order cook secretly bestows great honor upon the roller coaster.

Some more work on Ora. The newest model, now with stylized knees! Woohoo! Man, this was a pain the ass to do while still keeping everything in there in quads. I think there's 1 tri in that whole mess. I still have to do the same to the elbows, but now that I've done it once it should be easier to repeat it. More to come soon.

They need to remember how eagerly another lover hesitates.

This new random sentence generator rocks. Anyway, lame update. I should have this model done by now, but I've been kind of busy. She still has symmetry on the body, so her skirt is actually going to look different when it's done (it will slant up to the left and sinch at the hip, kind of like what the tattered "overskirt" is doing). Also, my mom's in town this week. I'll hopefully have more soon.

Any prime minister can graduate from a squid.

Small update today. I should have more to update on the Ora model next time. I split my students off into pairs during Project Fun to draw each other, and we have an odd number in the class, so I partnered up with a student. Maybe I'll play around with this in photoshop or painter later.

Sometimes, the box nervously painted a confusing shampoo bottle.

Some more cafe sketching. And today was gorgeous so I headed out to Gasworks Park with a friend and I ended up doing some drawing there, too.

Also, I didn't really intend to use this space as a place to plug myself, but I reeeeeeally need everyone's help here. I've submitted a design to Threadless, and assuming they okay my design, it'll be up for everyone to vote on it.

PLEEEEEEASE GIVE MY DESIGN HIGH VOTES!

If for no other reason, I really need the cash right now. Getting through the summer has been rough, and I could use groceries in my fridge. So please please PLEASE vote high. I'd love you all forever. You can get to my design here:

And here's just the straight up link:

An evil potato politely laughed at the deadly hair.

More progress on Ora. Still some edge loop placement to be done, and obviously a lot more modeling, but it's moving along.

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Nobody knows why a zombie regularly painted an original coffin.

Soooo close to being done with the Ora head model. Just have to add a few more tendrils of hair and close up the bottom. Huzzah!

Almost daily, an alien ate the cloned gardener.

Did some cafe sketching. Started out at Oasis, but that wasn't working out too well, so we moved over to Zoca.

Also, more work done on the Ora model. Her hair is proving difficult, but I'm still making steady progress. Slow, but steady.

And so, the teacher kicked the electronic police car.

Back to work on the Pamela picture. I've put that off for a while. Since I'm more comfortable in Painter now, I've decided to start this picture over for the umpteenth time and try it in painter this time.

Also, more work on Ora. Just getting her thick dread things into place and then I'm going to fill in the rest of the hair.

The box politely sat on the dancing candle.

Again, not much today. Apologies all around. I should have some more substantial stuff to post next week when I start having lots of time to put work in the Ora model. Until then, I've got a sketch I started and then doodled on in photoshop, and I'm also developing ideas for our team logo ("Baker's Arms" is the name of the team).

A fox dramatically kicked the insane chair.

Not much to share today. This is just a fun little exercise I've seen other artists do before. I went through one of my old old sketchbooks, picked a random drawing and redrew it. Sort of a quick sketch, so there are obvious anatomical errors, but it was fun nonetheless to see how I've changed. I'll probably do more of these in the future.

Only one hand nervously spat on the grumpy book.

Just some quick doodles of students hard at work. Also, a bit more progress on the Ora model. Almost done with her face.

Friday, July 3, 2009

The box dramatically captured the screaming balloon.

Did some drawing from imagination today. I think I'm getting better, but I'm taking it sorta slow. I need to get better at this. I feel like it's one of my major weak points as an artist.

Also, I started working on the model for Ora since Isaac is pretty much done.

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

Only one elephant politely screamed at a deadly police car.

Thought I had finished the Isaac model yesterday, but then I realized I forgot to model his vest. I also need to figure out what the goggles look like and model those, too. Getting there!
