How can her roundabout complain?
This is for our sophomore animation project. I'm on the layout team, so lately I've been painting backgrounds. It's still in process, so this is a rough color layout. I've started to add detail and refine, but there's still much to do.

The frivolous successor charges your hopeless junk.
Another light post. I've got a couple of friends visiting from Michigan this week, so my time to do art is a bit truncated. Not that I'm complaining - I'm still having a great time.
This is a progress pic of one of my prop sheets that should have been done a while ago in character design class. It's a Smith Hawken rifle. For some reason I just can't work on this for longer than an hour without getting really bored. I guess I was just meant to work on characters. I find them infinitely more interesting.

A harmony chops the damage.
In stark contrast to the previous post, this one's a bit on the slight side. We went out to Dungeness Spit today on the Olympic peninsula, and I was hoping to get a good amount of drawing in. We didn't really do as much as I thought. I still managed to get a couple of life drawing sketches in. These are just a couple of my friends as we sat around and doodled in nature.
Hopefully I'll have more to show next time.

Into the midnight rattles my boiling radar.
Big post today. The first few images are from our weekly Friday coffee adventure. These people were from various locations, though mostly in Westlake Center.
The fourth image shows the progression of the mystery page. I finally found out that the mystery artist was Kellen, but it seems she sparked a revolution and now everyone's had their way with my sketchbook.
Finally, the last image is my t-shirt design for my flash class. I'm planning on submitting this to TeeFury. I call it "Part Of This Complete Breakfast."

Only one evil potato quietly kicked the cloned printer.
Had to find a new random sentence generator for my post titles. Looks like the one I was using before is down (hopefully not indefinitely).
In the top image I was sketching some friends while hanging out. Bottom image is one of the ideas I have for my flash class - we have to design t-shirts. The cheese ghost idea wasn't working out for me, so I cut it loose. I have another idea, but not sure if I'll have the time to complete it. Guess we'll see!

A weasel interferes outside the sweet backlog.
I really should be in bed right now. I have to get up in 4 hours. So, to sum this up quickly: the top image is process work for the possible graffiti project at DigiPen this summer. The bottom image is an amazing sketch that I found mysteriously in my character design sketchbook. I don't know who the artist is, but they made my week with this little gem.
Oh, and happy St. Patty's.

Should the damned freeze reflect the supported pose?
The title this time sounds like an exasperated breakdancing question. Anyway, not much to post today. This is the end result of the Zangief tattoo my coworker wanted me to design. Might change some stuff, and depending what he thinks of it I may have some tinkering to do anyway.
I am ridiculously stoked about the game project I'm going to be working on. Solid team, solid concept. Can't wait till I can start posting some of that work up here.

The belt dominates the triumph under her pregnant circuitry.
Nothing much to report. Did some sketching at Lincoln Park (top) and Cupcake Royal/Cafe Verite (bottom).
Looking into game teams. Went to a meet and greet tonight with some programmers and there's some cool stuff on the horizon. Just hope I'm a part of it.
Gotta jet!

A superficial speaker plagues the crop.
Here's the model of my character for character design class, Jebediah Schmidt. Right now he's just under 6000 polys. The images and video above show the model turbo-smoothed. I'm still planning on taking the model into ZBrush and MudBox for fine detailing, and he still needs to have the fur colar put on his poncho thing.
Anyway, just wanted to post my progress on it.

Outside a grand poke reaches the present jargon.
Daylight savings time snuck up on me like a ninja this year. Truthfully, I never know when it is, but I heard that this year it came earlier than last year. Definitely was not prepared for that.
Anyway, these are some pen sketches I did while at various cafes this weekend. I'm digging this whole coffee routine we've got going on. I miss sitting in cafes and just drawing whatever, and it's nice to do it again.

With the gullible mole retracts the systematic fluid.
I'm starting to develop the cheese monsters for the t-shirt design. So far I've got the cheese ghost, a swiss monster, and a blue cheese monster.
Then at work I got bored and ended up doodling a Zangief picture. My coworker saw it and told me he wanted to get it tattooed on his calf, so I'm gonna clean it up and make it all spiffy.

The weather pauses near the pig.
So, nothing new yet on the Pamela pic. On top we have a few sketches of a character of mine, who I'm trying to develop and bring into the 21st century with a little re-tooling.
On bottom is a thumbnail of my next assignment in my flash class. We have to design a t-shirt to submit to TeeFury.com. I'm taking one of my previous characters, cheese ghost, and expanding the idea to make a fleet of cheese monsters attacking a cracker city. It'll be fun.

When can the jumping bench stir an outrage?
Couple more sketches. I'm moving along in the brainstorming process on the Pamela picture (above). I'm still deciding between poses. I like the one I've shown here, but I'm also considering what the background is going to be, and whether or not this pose would work with said background. Guess I need to get that firmed up before I can move on.
And also, another quick mule sketch from my character design class.

The victim jackets any celebrated diner.
....BEHOLD! Sketches!
The top ones are for my character design class. We're working on designing the familiars of our particular characters. My character's familiar is a pack mule named Bessy. First I need to learn how to draw mules. I'm atrocious at animals, but I'm trying to do the best with what I have.
The second image shows the thumbnailing process for one of my deviantArt page view winners. Much like the mule, I need to teach myself how to draw the character (Pamela) first before I can work on composition.
Next update will be the third! Happy March, folks.
